(More customer reviews)I'd love to give this system 5 stars. It has good station reception, pleasing sound, and looks good for a modestly priced system. Alas, as another reviewer stated, the CD trays are thin and flimsy. Worse, my CD's, which play fine on other players I own, frequently skip when being played on this system. 3 Stars is the best I can rate it.

Product Description:
Not everyone has the space or the desire for a large-scale audio system, which is where the JVC UX-G50 comes into play. Combining a small size, elegant design, and topnotch sound quality, the system accommodates a variety of digital formats while fitting beautifully in a space-challenged bedroom or kitchen. More significantly, the UX-G50 is no slouch from a power perspective, with a total output of 240 watts spread between its pair of two-way bass-reflex speakers. The end result is a stereo that can fill up your small room with big-time sound.
The UX-G50's main unit includes an AM/FM tuner and a five-disc CD changer that supports CD, CD-R/RW, and MP3 (on CD-R/RW) playback, along with such playback features as 32-track programming, repeat play, and random play. Listeners can also plug a digital audio player, such as an iPod or iRiver MP3 player, into the system's front auxiliary input. Once connected, the system immediately detects signals from the portable player, turns on the power, and switches the source to auxiliary, so users don't need to fiddle with the remote to find the correct source. And thanks to the USB PC link, you can stream music directly from your PC to the UX-G50, including MP3 and WMA files or Internet radio stations.
The system's pair of speakers, meanwhile, each include a 4.75-inch woofer and a 1.62-inch midrange driver, helping deliver a crisp, powerful audio performance. And though the default sound is pleasing by itself, the system also offers such enhancements as JVC's Active Hyper-Bass Pro, which produces a dynamic bass response and clear vocals, and electronic bass and treble controls for listeners who like to adjust the sound to their tastes.
Additional features include a clock with a sleep timer (the alarm wakes to a CD or radio), ID3 tagging (shows MP3 title and artist information on the screen), a display dimmer, and a wake-up function that gradually increases the alarm's volume level as you stir into consciousness. The UX-G50, which makes a stylish addition to almost any household, is backed by a one-year warranty on parts and labor.
