(More customer reviews)This CD R/RW drive sounds better than the Samsung player that came with my HP Pavilion 793.Clearer, crisper.Installing was a snap. Pulled the old one, changed jumpers on the new one to match the old one, installed the new one. That was it.I did not use the software that came with it, nor did I install a new driver.Using MusicMatch 8.2 for playing, ripping music and burning CDs.

I previously replaced the original equipment DVD burner in this computer with a Memorex drive (DVD+/-RW True8XI) and I love that, too.

Note - Both still great 15 months later.
